For yoga, pilates and movement studios

Set up your studio on the web. Check people in from your phone.

Tandava runs your class schedule, class packs, memberships and online booking. You set it up here, in your browser. Your front desk and teachers check members in at the door with Tandava Studio, our iPhone app, coming soon to the App Store.

No card needed to set up. Pricing is agreed with you before you take a single payment.

How it works

  1. Create your studio on the web. Sign up with your email, then add your name, location, teachers and class types. The setup wizard saves as you go, so you can stop and pick it up later.
  2. Publish your schedule. You get a booking page to share and a schedule to embed on your own website. Students pay by card when they book. You add your bank details once, in a short form run by our payments partner Stripe.
  3. Invite your staff. Add your teachers and front desk by email during setup. They sign in to Tandava Studio with that email and check people in at the door.

On the web, for owners

Everything about running the studio lives here. This is also where a studio is created: the app has no sign-up.

In the app, for the door

Tandava Studio for iPhone is for owners, front desk staff and teachers. Staff sign in with the account their studio invited.

We are starting with a few studios

Tandava is new. We are onboarding our first studios in Austin and working with each owner directly, so when something is rough you talk to the person who can fix it. Pricing is agreed with you before you take a single payment.

Questions studio owners ask

Where do I sign up: the website or the app?

The website. You create your studio at tandavastudio.com, then invite your teachers and front desk by email during setup. The Tandava Studio iPhone app has no sign-up: staff sign in with the email their studio invited and use it to check people in at the door.

Do I need to install or host anything?

No. The hosted version runs for you and you use it in a browser. Tandava's code is also public under the AGPL-3.0 license, so a studio with a developer can run its own copy instead. Most studios shouldn't: running your own means you handle backups, upgrades and support.

Can someone book a class without creating an account?

Yes, when the studio turns on instant booking. A first-time visitor books a single drop-in or free class with their name and email, pays on the next screen if the class has a price, and is done. Memberships and class packs still need an account, because recurring billing against an unverified email is a different risk.

Studios turn this on per studio. It is off until they do.

Will my booking page show other studios?

No. Your page, your embedded schedule, your booking form, confirmations and emails show only your studio. Members reach the rest of Tandava through the app's own menu, never through anything on your page.

Which time zone are class times shown in?

The studio's, always, with the zone named in words: "6:00 AM Hawaii time". If your phone is in a different zone, a second line shows your local time, and names the day when it differs. On-demand videos have no clock.

What does Tandava track about students?

First-party only: which page, where the link came from, campaign tags, and the kind of device. No advertising pixels unless a studio adds one knowingly, no IP addresses stored, no fingerprinting. A studio sees that someone came from its own Instagram link, which is what a front desk would notice anyway.

Open source, if you ever want it

Tandava's code is public under the AGPL-3.0 license. You don't need to care about that to use it: the hosted version is the same code, run for you. It does mean you can read exactly how your data is stored. If you have a developer and would rather run your own copy, start here.
